Live Music Online

RMP

The Remote Music Project was created in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, to support talented artists and hobbyists with a love of sharing music.

The traditional and ever-loved open mic night with an accessible twist. We invite artists and listeners to come together in one (online) venue to share and celebrate music. A chance to keep us creative and connected from the confines of our bedrooms and living rooms, or perhaps with the added luxury of a pint in the garden. This space is for all who are mourning the loss of anticipated gigs and nights out with friends.

Sessions are held every Wednesday and will kick off with a featured-setlist of chosen artists from the community. This will be followed by freestyle, where crowd members are invited onto the virtual stage for an impromptu set! Once you RSVP to a session, you will receive all the information you need to join us on the night. As the platform grows new sessions will be introduced.

The RMP mission

Our mission is simple... Create a kick-ass space for expression and talent to be shared from the comfort of our own abodes and ultimately, create a positive impact on the lives of people in our community and our planet.

Through live sessions and the RMP community, we want growing artists to have a free space to explore their talent and share what they can do. All while raising funds and awareness for important causes amongst our wider external community.

There are exciting possibilities on the horizon but before we move on to a bigger venture, your support is needed to make step one a success.

Enjoy live music from home

With social lives on hold and the once lively world of events left barren, board games, quizzes and binge-watching questionable series have become the staple fix in a troublesome time. If you're feeling it's time to mix things up, bring a spark to your evening and join us in experiencing a virtual take on the much-loved variety that is demonstrated via the open mic.

Whether you are a music enthusiast or simply enjoy the company of live entertainment, each session provides a unique experience with the chance to discover new talent and support familiar faces.

All you need to do is create a free account and RSVP to the sessions you want to view.

Share your talent

The Lockdown Sessions virtual stage will provide an opportunity to be seen and promote your talent. With distance no longer an issue you can reach fans from far away places, while friends and family can watch you do your thing at the click of a button.

We are open to artists from all backgrounds, whether you are an experienced performer, dabbler, hobbyist or just starting out. If you need a helping hand, we can pair you up with other artists.

Our live sessions give the chance for registered artists to perform a set in our featured setlist as well as giving space to those who get inspired to have a go at being on 'stage'.

When you sign up as an artist, you will also have access to a community of fellow artists. Where you will be able to showcase what you’ve been working on, share ideas and give personal feedback and support. The community is a perfect place to network with your talented peers and perhaps even arrange a collaboration or two for upcoming sessions.

Help us to help others

As well as supporting artists directly through our platform and its features, we aim to support our external community. There is an ever-growing amount of incredible companies supporting worthy causes across the globe and every little bit of help they get allows them to make a difference to people and projects in so many ways.

Each month we will be selecting one of those charities or projects to support through the platform. It is our promise that every penny over and above our necessary maintenance costs will be donated to the nominated cause. As a user of the platform, you will have the opportunity to donate during sessions and elsewhere on the site.

We will continue to explore ways in which we can contribute to people and the planet and we will always be happy to consider suggestions or collaborations for the future.
